In this role, I collaborated with key stakeholders to identify and address their innovation and intellectual property (IP) challenges by delivering tailored solutions that informed strategic business decisions. My responsibilities included conducting competitive intelligence, innovation and technology scouting, and IP portfolio analysis to provide actionable insights. I worked closely with cross-functional teams and data experts to align market developments with customer needs, ensuring that solutions were both data-driven and aligned with evolving business requirements.

I advised innovators, entrepreneurs, and SMEs on their approach to intellectual property (IP). This involved guiding clients through IP assessments to help them make informed decisions on managing their IP assets, ensuring alignment with their broader business objectives. I delivered insights on critical issues such as freedom-to-operate, patentability, and trademark protection, enabling clients to navigate IP challenges effectively and protect their innovations.

I joined a SaaS start-up focused on price analysis algorithms and CRM systems for digital transformation in the used-car market, heading up operations and providing strategic guidance during a critical transformation phase.Key responsibilities included co-developing and executing business and marketing strategies and managing a 12-person business development and service team across four locations, focusing on commercial expansion.Additionally, I was responsible for process evaluation and quality control, resulting in:- A 50% increase in productivity through improved team communication and the introduction of leaner, more transparent processes.- A 30% reduction in error rates by optimising internal systems.

I joined the stem cell research company within its first six months and played a pivotal role in its commercial development, helping guide the company from its early stages to phase 2 clinical trials and a £12.5m licensing deal.Key achievements included:- Contributing to the company's growth from 5 to 20 employees and achieving a £200m valuation.- Leading coordination of patent drafting, IP assessment, and ongoing IP monitoring.- Managing various aspects of project management, including logistics, stock management, and trial preparation.

Key responsibilities for funding, business planning and operational initiatives:- Securing several grants, including six-figure R&D funding.- Business planning encompassing market and competitor analysis, IP analysis, and freedom-to-operate (FTO) reports.- Financial forecasting and budgeting.- Establishing and refining operational structures and strategies to support business efficiency.- Virtually managing a company spin-off, overseeing accounting and HR functions.

I was hired to conduct market and regulatory analysis in the emerging stem cell sector, focusing on researching and mapping patent data to identify opportunities for innovation. This work contributed to strategic business planning and supported research grant applications.This research also served as the foundation for my Master’s Thesis: Personalized Medicine – a Viable Option for a Biotech Company.

I joined the medical device company at an early stage, overseeing a wide range of business functions, including market analysis, funding acquisition, innovation, and operations management.Key responsibilities and achievements included:- Securing loan and grant funding through applications, reports, and negotiations.- Leading business planning, budgeting, customer identification, and establishing routes to market.- Managing innovation processes, proof of concept, and testing of the medical device.
