Lead the analysis, design and implementation of FCAPS/ITIL based Systems Management solutions for EDS Clients who chose to manage their own it Infrastructure but wanted to leverage EDS’s expertise in organization, process and tools to improve performance and productivity.- Lead client site engagements utilizing a three phase methodology. In this role, Tom was responsible for the day to day activities of both Technical Services and Operations. These groups were responsible for the support and management of 120+ remotely distributed AS400 systems, as well as a number of AS400 applications and IBM Mainframe applications and remote support. During this time, Tom and his team updated the WAN from a Satellite VSAT SNA/SDLC network to a redundant IP network. His team also was responsible for identifying the replacement systems solutions for the AS/400 systems, choosing HPUX server solutions running on an Oracle database engine, and implementing a new UNIX based Service Enablement system based on the new technologies. He was also responsible for the re-tooling of the existing staff to Unix and Oracle technologies.

In this role, Tom was responsible for building and implementing a Technical Services function to support the design and deployment of 120+ IBM AS/400 systems across the US. He also lead efforts to design and implement a satellite based VSAT SNA/SDLC network and remote management systems to be able to remotely manage and distribute essential company data to these remote sites. He established a data mining and reporting function to support the financial and manufacturing teams, and developed a software version control and distribution system to manage and update these remote systems.

In this role, Tom was responsible for the development and maintenance of all the Manufacturing systems for Johnson Controls Systems and Services Division. These applications included Purchasing, MRP, CRP, Production and Inventory Control and Costing. Tom lead the implementation of a new IBM Mainframe based Manufacturing System - heading up both technical and process work streams.
