Background: I was born and raised in a small town. Grew up with a tight nit community that was based around small town sports. Throughout school I was involved in football, track, and basketball. I started at running back my Freshman-Senior year, and was a team captain my junior and senior year. State champion freshman year, state runner up sophomore year, and state semi-finalist my junior and senior seasons in football. I competed at state track all 4 years of high school on relays and medaled 5 times. I was also involved in many organizations including FFA, FCCLA, FBLA, National Honor Society, student council, and class officer. Of these organizations I was FFA and FBLA President and Class president for 4 years. Along with athletics and extracurricular I was valedictorian of my graduating class with the highest GPA in my school’s history, 4.176.My Business: Along with going to high school I also owned and operated a full time business. At the age of 12 I started a lawn care business. In the beginning I had no idea it would become what it has today. I began with two neighbors as my first customers and that clientele list began to grow every year. Today my employees and I take care of over 90 properties on a weekly basis, ranging anywhere from your average yard to 12+ acre commercial properties. We offer all of your lawn care needs and are continuing to grow as we speak. Career Aspirations: I became a volunteer firefighter at the age of 16 in my hometown. I learned many things and quickly realized that being a firefighter is my calling in life. I like to say that the Big Man Upstairs put me on this Earth to be a fireman. Once I came to school at Northwest I immediately joined the Maryville Fire Department where I have continued to grow my knowledge base. I am currently enrolled in Fire 1 & 2 classes and I am taking my EMT certifications next year. My end goal is to be a firefighter in a big city such as KC, Independence, Blue Springs, or St.Joe.
