As a Registrations Agent at Domestic and General, I am responsible for delivering exemplary customer service that falls in line with the 7 primary tenets of the Domestic and General ethos. I am responsible for handling the financial information of between 30 and 50 people a day, and engaging with them on insurance, attempting to generate sales from warm leads. Since training for a month over Zoom in one of Domestic and General's induction groups, I have met all of the targets set by myself and my managers on a month-to-month basis, displaying not only a commitment to excelling in the role, but also enforcing and practicing continuous professional development, and adapting my abilities to better serve the customers, the company and myself.

As of 21/4, I’ve been taken on as a voluntary stream producer for Esports Wales, learning about and implementing techniques for bringing live gaming content and other shows to an online audience. I have now been trained on stream production on following softwares:-vMix: A high-quality, professional software used to emulate an actual production mix. With the training provided to me, I will be assuming responsibility for regular, high-quality broadcasts for Esports Wales in mid-May.-Streamlabs OBS: Using knowledge and a bit of consultation from my Esports Wales training, I have produced powerful, versatile stream packages for a community using a widely-available, open-source amateur streaming software, that can be used by both myself and other members of the community in question.Responsibilities include:- Representing the Esports Wales brand professionally and responsibly.- Working with a direct supervisor to facilitate learning, both taught and self-taught.- Working to bring together different elements of a stream, including commentary, footage and scene transitions.This opportunity allows me to realise one of my personal goals of increasing esports participation. Especially so now, in lockdown with no physical sports being played, people who typically play competitive sports regularly are left without a competitive outlet. Personal experience being injured and unable to play rugby for an extended period has shown me that this can be quite unhealthy. Esports allow a competitive outlet for anyone and everyone, can be exciting and engaging for those who regularly watch or play competitive sports and is in itself a growing industry. Being able to assist Esports Wales as a stream producer allows me to pursue my goal of expanding esports participation through both competition and viewership, under a fantastic framework that has been set up for success.

As part of the volunteer staff at EclYpse Esports, I learned another facet of business and PR as the EclYpse Esports Social Media Manager. Answering directly to the owner of the organisation, I was tasked with monitoring and bolstering the organisations' Social Media presence. This was achieved through encouraging engagement through posts and replies, and crafting 5-8 daily posts to produce content and brand awareness. I also worked very closely with the Marketing and Content Managers to produce high-quality content for the Twitter and Youtube, which assisted hugely with creating engagement and a recognisable brand identity. In my first two weeks in the voluntary post, I increased the rate of follower growth by 60%, and achieved higher-than-average engagement and impression rates on the previous average and cycles. As of departing, the organisation had increased it's total follower count by 30%, leaving the organisation in a good place from which to proceed to grow.In this role, I not only expand my skillsets, I also have another avenue through which to pursue a personal goal - increasing the uptake and mainstream acceptance of esports, which is very exciting!

This promotion entailed all the responsibilities outlined below, as well as:- Supporting the management team with the daily running of the bar.- Routine checks to ensure standards and industry compliance were adhered to.- Stocktake duties as well as inputting of stock data into the company database.- Supervision of staff to ensure cocktail specifications and good bartending practice were adhered to.- Keyholder responsibilities.Adapting to the new role provided a fresh set of challenges in an industry in which I had developed a wealth of experience, as well as renewing my transferrable skills in leadership, passive analytics and communication. Responsible for the delivery of high-quality cocktails in a high-pressure environment, as well as the wellbeing of the bar. A working knowledge of licencing law was needed as well as the communication skills to not only work effectively with colleagues, but also to disarm potential conflicts before they escalated. In addition to bartending responsibilities, I also performed the weekly stocktake of the venue, counting accurately the amounts of each line of product sold, wherein my attention to detail and organisational skills were tested, with there being over 100 products spread amongst 2 bars and a stockroom.

Here, an understanding of how the bar worked was paramount, in all aspects of bartending including the detailed knowledge of contemporary licencing law, how to open the building and make safe as per building health and safety regulations, and how to operate a bar effectively.Also responsible for ensuring high standards in the customer space, as well as behind the bar, including cleanliness and hygiene, and minor maintenance work.

Responsible for serving over 100 brands of gin in an up-market specialist gin bar in Nottingham City Centre. Solely reponsible for opening, closing, cash handling and customer-facing service, as well as upsales.

This also included managing stock on the bar, ensuring that there was enough to cope with customer demand, advertising the job through street face-to-face direct marketing and ensuring cleanliness on the bar.
