3D Engineering Surveys, Qatar – Land Surveyor 06/2014 – 05/2015Doha Metro Project – Deformation Monitoring – SoldataMy responsibilities on the project included managing seven teams of surveyors and liaising with the client whilst conducting site work on the red line north section of the Doha metro. The site work involved the precise levelling of large loops around deep station excavations and above the tunnel sections with a Leica DNA03 digital level, working to an accuracy of 1mm. Utilities Surveys Framework – Ashgal/Atkins I was responsible for all work involved within this large framework contract. I programmed the schedule of work, carried out, processed and delivered the final project. The groundwork included identifying and locating power cables, data cables, pipes and anomalies bellow the ground within large (often 4km2) survey areas. I became proficient in the use of the RD8000 radio detector and the IDS OperaDuo GPR. The software used in the processing stage includes LSS, LGO and AutoCAD.Doha Metro Project – Pilling – Swissboring My responsibilities here included setting out and checking the location of large diameter concrete piles for the large Musharib metro station using a Leica TS06. In this project I had to frequently liaise with surveyors working on behalf of the client (Qatar Rail) ensuring that all work and checks were carried out correctly following risk assessments and method statements.3D Engineering Surveys, Oman – Land Surveyor (Work Placement)01/2013 – 08/2013 During my placement with 3D Engineering Solutions I worked on various projects including road feasibility surveys, runway level surveys, pre-construction topographic surveys and setting up GPS control networks. For these surveys I regularly used long range terrestrial LiDAR, GPS and conventional survey equipment. As my competence in the role grew, I was able to carry out large surveys unsupervised whilst leading small survey teams to a high degree of accuracy and success

Southwest Regional Coastal Monitoring ProgrammeMy practical duties involved setting up and using Leica 1200 and 500 GPS units in an RTK configuration for large topographic surveys of most beaches between Land’s End and Chesil beach. In combination with the GPS units I frequently used Leica Scanstation C10, where the use of GPS rovers proved impractical or impossible. National Grid FrameworkOn the National Grid framework contract I was a part of a small team working to survey power lines for seasonal sag and to identify local physical infringements. My role was to assist the senior surveyor by establishing suitable traverse points for the TS06 between spans, logging the position of the points with a GPS 1200 in a static configuration, setting up prisms and recoding heights.
