Not only was this a great opportunity to develop my skills as a leader and apply what I've learned throughout the years, it was also a chance to mentor the next generation of talent. My approach was simple: approach my role from the students' perspective by acknowledging their wants, needs and struggles. This approach fostered a comfortable environment where students felt at ease asking questions resulting in productive sessions and a pleasant atmosphere. Due to the extremely positive feedback from the students, going the extra mile to prepare classes never felt like "work". All these factors contributed to the high tutor grade received.This experience helped me improve ability to communicate, my ability to empathise, and create a collaborative and engaging learning space; qualities a truly great manager must have.
