After our head manager going into my senior year football season was suspended indefinently from the team I was given the title of head equipment manager. I had been waiting for this opportunity to be head manager and to see if I could flourish as a leader after having been on the staff for 3 years. But, I didn't want to be that leader who stands over everyone to make sure they're doing everything correctly while doing none of the work myself. Rather, I wanted the other managers to know that we are pretty much equal but if they had any questions or needed help with anything they were to come me or one of the coaches. Even with my new title I still performed the same responsibilities I did before I was promoted. Since we were down one person, I gave my three other managers their jobs after practice so we could quickly be done outside so we could get inside incase coaches or players needed us. Additionally, in becoming the head manager I was given the keys to our equipment room and laundry room. In being "the keeper of the keys", as my boss would alway say, he trusted me with protecting all the equipment we had the university owned. Further, I had to redo paperwork with the equipment each player had as well as maintain organization in the back room. At seasons end, me and my crew had to inventory all pieces of equipment and make an inventory list for our bosses reference.

I was invited by a professor to tour the BIG10 offices in Chicago. Before the tour 5 individuals who worked with the BIG10 gave up their time to talk to us about how to improve our chances of landing a job in sports out of college. One of the best insights I remembered was to strengthen your resume by working sports related jobs to gain relevance and experience when applying for jobs. As a result, I decided to pick up a job with my university as an event staffer during CUW sporting events. I primarily work as ball runner during volleyball, lacrosse, field hockey and soccer games in which I am responsible for supplying the referees with a replacement ball quickly for when the ball goes out of play so the game can resume. Additionally, for hockey games I work in the penalty box. Between periods I am in charge of removing the beg from the ice and placing the net along the walls so the zamboni do its job. After the zamboni wets the ice rink, I am responsible to remove the residue water from the zamboni with a screw driver and put the pegs back in jts place and then put the net onto the pegs so it doesn't move during gameplay. During gameplay I am in charge of opening the door so players can come into my box whenever a penalty is committed.

During perhaps the busiest summer of my life, one of my three jobs of the summer of 2019 was working with the public works department at Concordia Wisconsin. I was tasked with making sure the CUW campus was well maintained by cutting/trimming campus property. Other jobs included emptying and replacing garbage around campus and killing weeds around CUW sport facilities.

Midway through the Summer of 2019 I decided to work at Dominoes to make some extra money. As a delivery specialist, I am tasked with making sure pizzas or breadsticks are correct and that any side items such as sodas and dipping sauces come out with me for delivery. In store I also wash and stock dishes as well as put labels on pizza boxes for the employees making pizzas to ensure the pizza delivery process operates smoothly.

My third, and unpaid, job during the summer of 2019 was interning for the Lakeshore Chinooks. Although I was unpaid I still gained so much experience with my time with the Chinooks. In order to complete the internship the organization required we do three rotations over the summer: operations, hospitality and marketing. In operations, I did a lot of behind the scenes work such as: setting up batting practice, doing laundry, setting up the locker room, cleaning dugouts, caring for umpires, etc Operations in sports is the career I want to get into in the future so I made sure I did my best durning this rotation. Next, in hospitality most of our work was done in the main concession stand performing the duties of cashier, food running or making nachos or tacos. Additionally, we were in charge of one of the four hospitality areas throughout Kapco Park for roughly 8 innings of our baseball games. We had to set up the dishes in which we served food, set out utensils, napkins, condiments, chips, etc. During the game we had to monitor all the food and make sure all our dishes were stocked so guests could keep eating. If food was running low, I was in charge of calling down to the grill or the main concession stand so they could bring up more food. Furthermore, there was a bar on each deck with a bartender which we had to manage as well. If the bartender was low on beer, the bartender had to tell me and I radioed so we could get more beer. Lastly in marketing we primarily worked on the field and monitored between inning promotions during games. Some of our duties included: helping Gill, the Chinook mascot, and helping him with props, signing fans up to participate in between inning promotions pre-game, etc.

My first ever job as a sophomore of High School, just after I passed my drivers test was holding the position of busboy at Texas Roadhouse in Waukesha. My sister and cousin worked at the Roadhouse as waitresses in the past which helped my chances to get hired. But, during my interview I really connected with the manager. During our conversation she asked me about my medical condition and I explained to her one of my conditions was that I had to be tube fed for 12 years of my life because I was unable to chew and digest food on my own. Oddly enough, her son had the same condition when he was younger and it was refreshing to hear there were other people in the world who could relate to what I went through as a toddler. Because of that moment in my interview, I was hired and spent the rest of high school working for the Roadhouse and into college until I decided to move on and find a different position closer to my school. Texas Roadhouse taught me how to have a high motor, as the restaurant industry is fast paced, and it also taught me how to adapt to other personalities to create a cohesive and comfortable work environment.

Once my Football responsibilities each Fall came to an end, I decided to work with Sodexo, who caters to Concordia students during the school year, so I could make income after football season. I started off preparing food for a few weeks and I decided I didn't enjoy the job I was doing. Because of this, I moved back into the dish-room which is more of laid back environment. With a team of about 3 or 4 in the back dish-room, we were assigned to organize dirty dishes that came through the line, put them through the dish-washing machine and then made sure the cafeteria was stocked with clean dishes for student use.

After my experience equipment managing in high school for 4 years, I wanted to continue my managerial career in college. Oddly enough my high school head coach knew the head coach at Concordia Wisconsin, and I ended up getting interview. Shortly after that interview I was hired to be their equipment manager the coming fall. My duties as a manager consist of being able to identify problems with a players equipment when they experience issues and being able to fix it in a timely fashion so they can back to practicing or playing in the game. Further, my team and I have to set up the practice field with balls, cones and any pads the coaches need to properly coach their team.

During the 2017 Packer season I had the responsibility, along with 3 other interns, to run the Horse and Plow Radio Show Facebook page each Monday. Growing up in Brookfield, WI and being raised a Packers fan, I jumped at this opportunity when I first heard about it from one of my professors; and it was honestly one of the best internships I've had. I got to meet radio personalities Bill Micheals and Gary Ellerson, as well as Packer stars such as LeRoy Butler, Aaron Jones and Davante Adams. Seeing what goes into setting up for a live radio show was a different experience and it taught me how to act professional around superstar athletes.
