NEW U.S. MISSION (EMBASSY COMPLEX) in AMMAN, JORDAN.Responsibilities included assistant management of 330 employees, of all disciplines, design and construction coordination of three main subcontractors on site.

Contract value was US $30.000.000 and included 8 buildings (Chancery, Chancery Annex, Ambassador’s Residence, Service Annex, Marine Guard House. American Club, and Entrance Buildings) with a total floor area of 22.000 m2, 800m of security anti -ramming Boundary Wall, Athletic facilities, Swimming pool, 50.000 m2 of landscaping and parking areas. Main features of the project included, a sophisticated external wall stone cladding, in access of 20.000 m² extensive underground facilities and the implementation of a strict site security plan.Supervision of the project was carried out by SVERDRUP Corporation U.S.A., under the head supervision of the U.S. State Department (F.B.O.)

Assistant Architect for Architectural Engineering Designs concerning mainly projects for the U.S. MILITARY BASES IN GREECE.Work entailed complete design of new or under renovation facilities of the air bases, including construction detailing, complete finishing and fazing schedules, preparation of cost estimates, bilingual specifications, design analysis drawings, and design co-ordination of Architectural, Electrical. Mechanical, Civil and Structural design teams.Also involved in an Energy Conservation Survey and study for all the U.S. Military Bases in Greece.

a) Assistant Architect for the design of the TAIF MINISTRY OF DEFENSE AND AVIATION – HEADQUARTERS BUILDING COMPLEX, IN SAUDI ARABIA. Total floor area of the complex was 35.000 m2. On a site area of 30 acres and with an estimated construction value of US $ 38.000.000 (1986 cost estimate). The project included the complete architectural, civil, structural, electrical and mechanical design of the Complex, with special emphasis on the interior design and decoration of the buildings and the surrounding areas. The complex comprised of a Main Headquarter Building, which included a secure/shelter Command Center, also a Residential Complex, parking areas and extensive landscaping. The project also required a complete cost estimate and quantity take-off, as well as the complete preparation of construction specifications.b) Assistant Architect for the design regarding the Alterations and Repairs of the NAMRU-3 HEALTH RESEARCH CENTER, IN CAIRO, EGYPT. The Project, commissioned by the U.S. Navy - Mediterranean Division, entailed the improvement of certain facilities (total floor area 1.000 sq.m) regarding function, space requirements, electrical and mechanical changes and additions, and upgrading of health sanitation factors. The project, with a total estimated value of US $1.000.000 (1986 cost estimate) also included complete preparation of construction specifications.

ROYAL HOUSING COMPLEX WITHIN THE KING KHALID MILITARY CITYin charge of a technical team, designated to supervise the above mentioned construction. The position required the supervision and monitoring of the Contractor and his 900 labor force, for the precise execution of the project, including the technical and financial implementation of requirements, as well as the strict quality assurance and safety regulation enforcement, and time scheduling of production efficiency and productivity programs. The project entailed Housing Quarters. Reception and Banquet Halls, Messing facilities, Dormitories, Utility buildings, Roads and Pavements, Utility Network Systems, 17.000 m² of landscaping. The total floor area was 11.000 m2 and the project had demanding requirements regarding Interior Decoration, Furnishings and Landscaping. Special attention was given to the Royal Villa and Royal Mosque. Value of the project was US $20.000.000 (1985 cost estimate).

Construction of both bridges was based upon a method of on-site prefabrication – prestressing and achievement of maximum load bearing strenghts within short periods. The design was carried out by KOCKS GmbH Germany and technical know-how and special equipment was supplied by VIADUCT GmbH Germany. The project included sophisticated earthworks and geotechnical research. The position required the responsibility of procuring from Europe the advanced technology equipment requirements, the material and know-how needed, and coordination of the central Athens Office, with the site management, and its construction efforts, Value of the projects US $ 1.200.000 (1983 cost estimate)

DAMMAM PORT CONSTUCTION SITE OF ARCHIRODON S.A. The position requirements included technical know-how of all works underway of the site, their financial cost control, their budgeting, material stock control, scheduling and monitoring of all work progress, equipment distribution, public relations and new contract promotions.

DAMMAM PORT-SHIP REPAIR YARD PROJECTwhich mainly required the coordination and control for the transfer of technical and financial information, to and fro the designer in Athens (DOXIADES ASSOCIATES) and the Contractor (ARCHIRODON - PETROLA J.V.) in Dammam. The project entailed the design and construction of a complete and self-supported Ship Repair Yard, which included a number of Facility Buildings, Utility and Service Works, Crainage Equipment, 2 Floating Dry-Docks (22,000 and 10.000 tn), Dredging Works, marine Earthworks, and the construction of an Island Breakwater and an Access Causeway. The project also included the turn-key construction of two housing complexes, complete with messing and recreational facilities, landscaping, road networks and utilities. The value of the project was US $ 202.500.000 (1980 cost estimate)

RIYADH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT TERMINAL BUILDING FOUNDATIONS AND DEPARTURE BRIDGE PROJECTwhich entailed the construction of a 1.800 m Utility Tunnel, a 1.600 m Air Plenum Tunnel, a 2.400 m Counterfort Retaining wall, Independent Foundation Footings and pedestals, and a 1.800 m Girder-Box Bridge. The above work involved a total of 1.500.000 cu.m. Of assorted earthworks, and more than 100.000 cu.m. Of reinforced concrete. The position required the supervision and coordination of more than 500 skilled and unskilled employees, a large number of various light and heavy equipment, their respective maintenance and repairs, and the implementation of a demanding construction design. Responsibilities included the financial, administrative and logistic control of the project with a total construction value of US $ 24.000.000 plus US $ 20.000.000 worth of Government furnished materials. The head supervision was carried out entirely by BECHTEL INTERNATIONAL S.A. (1979 cost estimate).

RIYADH ELECTRIC CO. BUILDING CONSTRUCTION PROJECTSThe projects entailed construction of offices, stores, storage sheds, fuel storage tanks, tank dike walls, electrical substations and switch rooms, and assistance to the company’s electro-mechanical branch in cable trench excavations. The position required the coordination of 200 skilled and unskilled employees, construction equipment and complete financial, technical, and administrative management of these projects, with a total construction value of US $ 3.000.000 (1978 cost estimate)
