Starfish Family Services' Early Childhood Education is a multi-funded program including Early Head Start and Head Start grants as well as Michigan's State funded Great Start Readiness Program. It is a collaborative between Delegate partnerships in addition to our Starfish Family Services' directly-operated programming that supports families in Detroit and surrounding areas. Starfish operates as the lead agency and fiduciary.As a Grantee Education Manager, I monitor Delegate compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, State licensing regulations, Grantee and Delegate policies and procedures and best practices for Head Start children and families. I develop program policies and procedures in regards to educational services and also provide oversight to our coaching model. In addition, I develop and facilitate training and professional development for education staff as well as support our coaching teams' development and delivery of training and professional development. I generate reports and analyze data regarding children's developmental growth throughout the program and apply results to future training and professional development, policy changes and development, as well as use this data to drive curriculum changes and/or additions to curriculum.

Greater Detroit Area

Thrive by Five Detroit is a newly developed program that provides services to pregnant woman and children ages birth to 5 years old. It is a collaborative between Development Centers, Focus: HOPE, Southwest Solutions and Starfish Family Services to offer an innovative model of Head Start and Early Head Start to families in Detroit. Starfish operates as the lead agency and fiduciary.As a Grantee Education and Disabilities Specialist, I monitor delegate compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, licensing regulations, Grantee and Delegate policies and procedures and best practices for Head Start children and families. I develop program policies and procedures in regards to education and disability services. In addition, I develop and facilitate training and professional development for education staff. I generate reports and analyze data regarding children's developmental growth throughout the program and apply results to future training and professional development, policy changes and development, as well as use this data to drive curriculum changes and/or additions to curriculum.

Establish and maintain a safe and healthy learning environment for children. Maintain center in regards to Michigan Child Care licensing. Maintain a balanced site budget. Support and guide education staff, kitchen staff, and family service workers on-site. Plan in implement a strategy to establish and maintain full enrollment. Conduct monthly staff and parent meetings. Meet with parents if/when concerns or issues arise. Attend and contribute to monthly administration staff meetings. Contribute to service plans and training and technical assistance plans.

Develop and implement daily lesson plans that reflect activities and concepts according to children's individual learning plan. Schedule home visits and parent-teacher conferences throughout the year. Attend and contribute to monthly staff meetings. Establish and maintain a healthy and safe learning environment for children.
