Role overview• Technical team leader of the Life & Health Policy Management IT team of 7 software developers• The team developed the software for the support of an insurance portfolio of about €120 million Main responsibilities• Liaised with internal and external customers for collecting requirements and defining software solutions for the business needs• Wrote code as a senior team member using Java EE, EJB, SOAP web services, XML, JSP, HTML, SQL, DB2 Main achievements• Designed from scratch and delivered the current generation of Interamerican’s Life & Health software platform, replacing older black terminal systems with a web-based environment. The approach allowed Interamerican to be the first insurance company in Greece to sell health insurance products online; this was promoted at the time by a large media campaign• Was recognised as a competent trainer and delivered training seminars to Interamerican’s staff on both technology and business topics (e.g. Java training, Using UML, Quality in Writing Requirements, Overview of Interamerican’s Performance Management & Recognition System)
