• Characterized VCSELs by analyzing their I-V curves and relating threshold current to peak wavelengths• Developed 2 wafers of VCSELs, performing all steps of the fabrication process including photolithography, ICP etching, metal deposition, oxidation, and more, gaining cleanroom processing certification throughout• Examined the intersection of laser gain and cavity resonance, determining the temperature dependence of VCSELs• Currently developing 2D VCSEL arrays for high power applications

• Advocated for our organizations interests in departmental workspace meetings, communicating policy updates• Contributed to the design and coding of the steering wheel PCB, handling the inputs and displaying criticalinformation to the driver, developed in C++ using mbed libraries• Gained experience interfacing with the CAN bus system to facilitate communication of all the boards in our car• Innovatively reconfigured our battery sensors on the fly, allowing our team to continue driving in the race• Experience working on large projects with multidisciplinary teams of people in high‐pressure environments• Drove the car 700+ miles in an international competition where our team placed 4th with the 3rd most miles
