The BackStory Platform is home to crowdfunding campaigns that are focused on stories about social causes. Each campaign is fueled by companies who have committed a percentage of each customer purchase to the campaign. Each campaign has: - a powerful BackStory Video at the top- tangible monthly funding goals that are tied to specific charitable action- monthly Impact Videos that show the customers of the companies the good that they helped create. Who We Help- We serve for-profit companies that want to intertwine their brand with social purpose and engage their customers with social good with every purchase.What HappenedWe successfully funded our very first BackStory Campaign! The campaign on our platform raised over $20,000 for the First Star Central Florida Academy. This campaign was sponsored by UCF and included the Head Football Coach Scott Frost in the video.Since this campaign, the BackStory platform was poised to evolve. The next step in its evolution was becoming a platform for campaigns that are funded by companies who have committed to giving back a percentage of every purchase to the cause.Before this evolution took place, I awakened to a truer version of my purpose, helping people align how they make money with how they experience meaning in their lives. The PurposeThis opportunity opened my eyes to the true definition of "marketing." My effort at the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life showed me that marketing is not about advertising that we have better features, but instead it's about communicating the deeper purpose of an event or product to the people who share that purpose. Once I began to talk about the WHY behind events we planned, everything changed.My Action- Assist the Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life and Fraternity and Sorority Life team in the initiation, planning, development, and implementation of a comprehensive marketing analysis and conceptual plan.
