I was the first OmniSource employee to go through a new, revamped, Management Training Program with special concentration in Operations and Marketing. The program exposed me to all aspects of the company and industry through hands-on training provided by OmniSource employees throughout all departments. Mentors and trainers ranged from Machine Operators and Yard Supervisors to department heads and Executive Vice Presidents. The goal behind the program is to develop a well-rounded employee who, at the completion of training, is capable of making educated business decisions benefiting the entire organization. As the first member of the new training program, I was tasked with helping to continue to develop and critique the program to improve it for future candidates.
