Developed, equipped and fabricated Vision and Motion Test Lab (VMTL). Created helmet-mount system, wiring harness, and thigh-mounted controller of X-Motion display for testing and evaluation by major DoD contractor and the United States Air Force. Performed system failure analysis on various assemblies and provided detailed reports with recommendations. Produced, filmed and edited product motion test videos for engineering evaluations and investor presentations. Created numerous one-off product prototypes for clinical trials and other inter-departmental use. Supported aircraft operations during flight test of helmet-mounted variant of X-Motion technology. Duties required in-depth knowledge of ANSI SQL-92, as well as knowledge in other SQL dialects (Transact SQL, PL/SQL, PostgresSQL, etc.), Linux/Solaris/Windows Server OSs, shell scripting, and ETL/ELT tools. Worked on numerous Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs), both customer-facing and backend support. Re-wrote SQL scripts as required to conform to SQL-92 standard. Hired directly by company in October 2003 from Fujitsu Consulting. Designed, created & maintained secure SQL-based portal for use by AA Federal Flight Deck Officers (FFDO), which served as model for other airline carriers in the TSA FFDO program. Design and implementation was a high priority project which required close interaction with the FFDO representatives. Created and generated numerous ad-hoc queries, views and stored procedures for web site metrics, department and committee reports, membership reports, database and security audits, and web site automation. Was lead programmer on the migration of the existing LISTERV bulletin board system over to IdealBB, an ASP/SQL-based bulletin board system. Created and enhanced many stored procedures impacting the IdealBB integration, enhancing security, message processing, and additional functionality.

Webmaster and Lead ASP Developer on the website of the American Airlines Pilots Union, the Allied Pilots Association. Worked closely with line pilots, national officers, committee members and staff on a daily basis. Key in migrating existing website from IRIX/Netscape Enterprise Server/Berkeley DB solution over to MS IIS 5.0/SQL Server 7.0 solution (later upgraded to IIS 6.0 & SQL Server 2000). Developed client-side JavaScript that encode user’s password to SHA-1 encryption, to support legacy password encoding system inherited from Netscape Server. Created interim Perl solution for ODBC connectivity from existing UNIX-based web site to MS SQL Server 7.0 and MS Access database applications, resulting in $10,000 in savings over a commercial solution.

Lead ASP Developer on SiVault, Inc. website project, which required the development of a web-based point-of-sales portal for smart card applications. Assumed role of Project Leader early on in project. Application developed on client site with their close cooperation and input. Utilized MS Visual InterDev 6.0, MS FrontPage 2000, MS IIS 4.0, Site Server Commerce 3.0, with an Oracle 8.0 backend. Project required numerous modifications to MS-supplied SQL scripts for use on Oracle 8 system.

Created an ASP/XML solution for low-bandwidth/low-overhead site administration functions using scripting and XML/XSL. ASP Developer on Hire Intelligence Internet Recruiting Services (HIIRS) Web Video Recruiting System, and Lead Developer on web-based mailbox functionality.Lead Developer and Maintenance Lead for Promotional Products Association International (PPAI) Universal Promotional Identification Code (UPIC) Registration System. Worked closely with PPAI representatives to successfully deliver a web-based application still in use today. Lead Developer for Promotional Products Association International (PPAI) Website Judging System for PPAI Expo 2000. Designer and ASP Developer on DiCarlo Foods Web Project Proposal. Designer and ASP Developer on proposed Mike Modano Web Site, shortly after he and the Dallas Stars won the Stanley Cup.

Created numerous server-side routines to handle data transformations between Windows-based and Unix-based backend servers in the U.S. and Canada on a real-time basis. ASP Developer on Avon, Inc. project. Project entailed the creation of an order fulfillment site for Avon representatives, utilizing one of the first commercial implementations of MS Site Server 3.0 Commerce Edition. Developed on site, the project entailed daily communication with Avon IT representatives, including the CIO. Received MCI/SHL Impact Award for “Exceeding Customer Expectations”. Worked with Lotus Notes developers on internal rollout of Lotus Domino portal for group.

Consultant on C/C++ Y2K pilot project for Deutsche Bank. Assisted in internal implementation of Lotus Notes, specific to practice standards and processes. Assisted in response to Request For Proposal (RFP) from Merrill Lynch for enterprise Windows NT implementation. Assisted in internal beta implementation of a Lotus Notes-SQL 6.5 conduit, which allowed users to access SQL 6.5 databases through the Notes interface.
