The first half of my career at Tech Data was as a Product Manager within the Networking area. The essence of that job was to take care of a number of networking brands and market them towards the sales force and towards resellers. Typical brands I maintained was Microsoft, Novell, 3Com, Intel, and lots of major network hardware manufacturers at that time. This job also included budgeting that segment and managing the purchasers to keep a proper stock of these brands.The second half started when me and a couple of my coworkers realised that Tech Data (at that time under the name of Computer 2000) needed a website and started coding one on our spare time. When it was done a few months later our managing group approved of it and I officially became the webmaster of it and transferred to the marketing department.
