In my role as regional coordinator for the northeast 'Young Engineers and Science Clubs' initiative, I supported teachers develop and run new STEM clubs up awith access to start-up grants, free resources, training and advice. We have over 1600 schools in our network across the country. I delivered CPD's, organised regional and national events and competitions. I was a contact and source of advice for science clubs within the North East. I assisted with planning and implementing of YESC’s annual programme of activities and helped to develop and implement new projects for the programme.

I managed ASC's education team, leading on development, training and evaluation. I was responsible for managing ASC's structured learning programmes for school education. I lead on the planning, development and delivery of innovative, high-quality experiences that inspire ASC's audiences including all of our public audiences. I planned our programme of activities and events for our audiences, oversaw content creation, marketing and delivery. I led on several successful funding proposals and lead delivery of multiple sponsored projects. I was also responsible for reporting, budgeting, training, evaluation.

I had various responsibilities and job roles, for clients throughout Scotland. These included site investigation, environmental assessments and management, and industrial deep cleaning. As a team leader I was responsible for meeting clients, surveying each job, ensuring that we had all the necessary materials, risk assessments and disclosures. I then worked as part of a small team to complete the job ensuring that it is completed to a high standard. I was responsible for training new team members, ensuring that they work in line with our operating standards.

I worked for the Edinburgh International Science Festival as a science communicator. I worked as part of a small team to deliver workshops.The workshop 'Gadget Factory' introduced children to electronic devices, circuit building and soldering. I also worked on a number of small science 'busking' stands at the science festival to promote and advertise the event. My job as a science communicator at these workshops was to make the event as fun and engaging as possible for the children. I led workshops, working with the whole group, or 1 on 1 if required. I was also responsible for the health and safety of every child who participated in each workshop. As I was working with soldering irons special care had to be taken throughout.

As a teaching assistant, I assisted professors deliver undergraduate lab and field workshops. I engaged with the students helping them through workshops and classes and acted as a point of contact for any personal or academic issues they were facing. I also assisted with the marking of work on field trips and provided first aid when required.

Selected for summer internship with Scottish Resources Group, at Britain's largest open-cast mine. I worked with geologists and engineers on site and carried out a number of tasks including:- Lithological and geotechnical core logging & coal seam sampling- Interpretation of geophysical logs (using televiewer & WellCAD software)- Environmental testing (water, dust, noise and blast monitoring)- Data input and manipulation (using Excel, GINT and LSS software)

As a lifeguard my primary role was pool supervision and ensuring the safety of all pool users. In the event of any accidents I was required to perform water rescues, and then provide first aid if needed. Other duties included cleaning, equipment maintenance and set-up and water quality testing. I worked as part of a small team or individually to provide an excellent level of customer care with a strong focus on health and safety. In my role as swimming instructor I planned and delivered swimming lessons for groups and individuals of all abilities and ages, adapting my lesson plan to suit each participants ability, confidence and goals.

I assisted senior lecturers and professors in delivering lab and field based classes to undergraduate geology students. My main role was to attend undergraduate practical classes and field trips, and engage with the students, ensuring that they understood the tasks they had been set, and help them with any questions. This would often involve practical demonstration of material and techniques in the lab.
