I work with our amazing 'Street Sense' newspaper Vendors, many of whom have or do experience homelessness. This puts me more into the Direct Services/Unhoused Outreach job category.I manage a team of three Vendor Program Associates (VPAs) and two or more volunteers. Together we form the backbone of the vendor employment program, the low-barrier employment opportunity central to the Street Sense Media mission. We support active vendors in collecting their newspapers, their contributions from the Street Sense Media app, and their editorial payments. I run vendor recruitment efforts and manage the New Vendor Orientation, and I run all vendor sales training, including teaching the weekly sales and professional skills-focused Workplace Workshop.
