In the late 90s the tech explosion was in full force. I was working at Morgan Stanley and my co-founders were at NYU Stern for their masters in business. My co-founders were in an entrepreneurial class at NYU and formulated the idea for Capacity in that class. And being the kind of guys they are, they decided to start Capacity and asked me to join their efforts. I considered offers from two of the then high-flying investment banks focused on the technology sector, but ultimately decided I liked the idea of going into business with friends who had a vision and what at the time was a somewhat contrarian concept. Amazon was in its early days, and there was not anything like the widespread knowledge of order fulfillment or supply chain generally. It seemed like a good idea at the time, and it has been.Fulfillment may not look like a glamorous task from the outside looking in, but it can be the foundation for a company’s brand success. From B2B retail to DTC shipments, eCommerce to EDI and obsessive onboarding, everything we do is designed to serve our overall mission: to deliver delight for our client’s customers and make logistics frictionless for their business. We enjoy a life full of ideas, art, architecture, literature, SF novels (the good ones), and an open home which welcomes our friends, their children, our child’s friends and our families. It reminds me of the home my parents created which attracted many and to this day my siblings and our friends remember those times fondly. I love skiing and climbing with my son, as well as backpacking and camping. As a family we love languages (which are not my forte) and travel. I have been interested in food security and justice issues, actively volunteering for a decade before starting Capacity, and continuing to support local and global organizations like North Brooklyn Angels, the Middlesex County Food Bank, and the UN’s World Food Programme. I also follow the lead of my paternal grandmother, Eleanor Brown Campbell, who was a life-long supporter of Planned Parenthood. I play guitar but not so well…
