    As a fifth IM I generally worked special projects. I quickly became the NOC's personal developer. This has involved automating processes in the NOC, building small tools, and middleware. Currently I am working on building out a new monitoring platform with a small team. I would also fill in shifts when people were out and handle large scale outages. This involved running hour plus long calls to dig into root cause of an issue. I would make sure that all necessary teams were on the issue, and that everyone was on the same page. I would also call out direction on what potential causes of the issue may be based on alerts in our monitoring system.
