Purpose and peace of mind are precious. Thankfully, I discovered that each is optimal, when both are present together.25 years ago, I began to realize that I feel inner peace when I am engaged in a purpose that has profound meaning to me. Purpose that I believe makes a meaningful difference in the world. Purpose that I am committed to. Purpose that resonates with my core values. I found such purpose fleetingly in my youth, and it was much later before I realized I could experience peace daily, moment-to-moment, by consciously walking my Why.For much of my life, inner peace eluded me. While outwardly a generally optimistic person with a positive outlook on life, I often felt confused, anxious, agitated, excited. Now I can easily see, looking back, that I was sometimes harboring intentions that were misaligned with my core values - creating a dissonance that led to troubling thoughts and problematic behavior. Not so much the silly & sometimes stupid things most boys do, but those times when I acted from a place of ill intention, of incongruence - knowingly or unknowingly. I'm grateful to have been called to meaningful purpose in 1997 (through a powerful spiritual "download", that we can talk about at another time). That calling manifested as and through AlterECO inc., an interior design business that was (and still is) mindfully focused on ecological design alternatives. We created a pioneering line of modern bamboo cabinetry and designed beautiful bamboo kitchens that led (and still lead) the industry in utility, durability, & environmental sustainability. Check it out at BambooCabinets.comAlterECO is now doubling down on the commitment to healthy home & healthy planet with a fresh, new approach to designing kitchens - & lifestyles - that are rooted in regeneration. Check it out at RegenKitchenDesign.comI am likewise grateful to have been called to a deeper dive into my purpose in 2014, by spiritual guide and teacher Derek Rydall, under whose sage tutelage I became one of his first Master Coaches. This set me on a path of dedicated, mindful work on my own life, that is currently manifesting - both for myself and for those I serve - as the personal coaching (life purpose guidance) practice that I lovingly call "Walk Your Why." Check it out at WalkYourWhy.comI have enjoyed (& somehow endured) many other adventures in this life, where purpose played its powerful role, but let's leave those for another time, when we can be in conversation.Happy Trails... Walk Your Why.And enjoy the peace of mind all along the way!
