I am an experienced senior leader with experience running design, human factors, safety, organisational development and innovation programs, primarily in the health and transport sectors. Much of my career has been spent designing high-risk, high-consequence work, demonstrating a high-level of rigor and robustness. I am multi-specialist with qualifications in organisational psychology/behavior, human factors and ergonomics, quality improvement and human-centred design. I am also a board member for several university programs and research centers.Career highlights:- Completed a PhD in 2012 investigating expertise and intuitive decision-making in power generation, rail and healthcare.- Established the first Clinical Human Factors program in Australia in 2014 with the Clinical Excellence Commission. This program was responsible for providing expert guidance regarding human factors and design in healthcare services, including evaluating safety management systems, implementing user-centred design processes in eHealth projects and building organisational capability for safety and continuous improvement.- Developed the Human Factors Integration Plan for WestConnex Stage 3A in 2018.- Established the Design Program at eHealth NSW in 2019, providing User Experience Design, Health Informatics, Human Factors and Inclusive Design services to health ICT projects within NSW Health. This included supporting the design of apps to support the COVID Vaccination rollout in 2021.- Established the Health Prototyping Centre in 2022 on behalf of eHealth NSW, HealthShare NSW, Health Infrastructure and NSW Health Pathology. This facility provides 1000 square metres of simulation space and expert coaches to support rapid prototyping by the partner organisations based on the Google Design Sprint Methodology.
