Individual Contributor / Product Developer:- Implement data pipelines using Apache Kafka + Kafka Connect to stream pricing information and power many pieces of the UX.- Design and implement schema for historical pricing database, implement related architecture and backend services.- Refactor and own several internal GRPC services, significantly cutting down code complexity and obviating thousands of lines of code.- Implement and maintain several services interfacing with various electronic corporate bond trading venues, significantly increasing trading volumes.- Reimplement and simplify client account management tooling, enabling non-technical staff to manage client accounts, removing the need for engineering resources and speeding up client support response.- Significantly refactor new client onboarding tooling and flow, saving hours of engineering time per new client.Infrastructure Engineer:- Rework monitoring and alerting stack, provisioning with IAC, making it: more easily duplicatable across environments; maintainable and extensible; more effective at catching bugs early on - significantly decreasing the rate of production issues.- Maintain and upgrade Kubernetes (EKS) cluster.- Calculate compute usage and establish savings plans to cut down on thousands of dollars of monthly compute spend.- Refactor infrastructure state to separate core infrastructure, significantly cutting down on release pipeline failures and speeding up releases and infrastructure upgrades.Other Responsibilities:- Firm "Release Master": Orchestrate daily releases, unblock pipelines, communicate changes and smoke testing requirements, support team in triaging and debugging issues as they arise.- High-involvement client support: Consistently provide responsive, professional support to live trading clients, debugging and often resolving issues on the fly.- Client onboarding specialist: setup new client infrastructure and third party connections.
