A health, beauty, and consumer goods leader, Alan has built major businesses around the world, including operational transformations and PE carve outs. As CEO of NRS Healthcare, a PE backed business specialising in medical devices, consumer products and services, he led the company over the busiest period in its history to be the largest, best performing, business in its market after major investments in technology, transformation and infrastructure, plus leading its refinancing.Previously, as Group Head of Global Sales at Reckitt, he played a key role as Chief Customer Officer at the top of the company, reporting to the CEO and managing the revenue growth of a £9bn leader in Health and Hygiene. Prior to this he held a variety of roles including leading two of Reckitt’s largest businesses in UK and Canada, rebuilding their business in Africa, Global Director for one of their power brands, as well as heading up Innovation and leading marketing across Europe / North America. He was closely involved in all aspects of the company: Europe, North America, developing markets, sales, marketing, innovation, acquisitions, and operations, with a particular focus on pharmacy and healthcare professionals.After leaving Reckitt, Alan took senior interim roles in health and beauty, as well as founding a successful tech start up. Especially concentrating on e-commerce, he has launched D2C businesses 4 times in 3 separate categories, across 2 continents.Over his career he has played a role in industry bodies worldwide, including the Proprietary Association of Great Britain, the Self-Medication Manufacturers Association of South Africa, the Canadian Consumer Specialty Products Association, and Food, Health & Consumer Products of Canada. He is a founding member of MarketingKind, a membership community of marketers, brands and causes coming together to create positive change through outcome-oriented events and activities.A graduate of London Business School, Alan took his first degree at the University of Birmingham, and holds a Masters in marketing. He is experienced, accredited and trained as both a trustee and non exec director, having served as Chair of a pension fund and non exec of a start up.In business he is especially passionate about the role of trust in an organisation; driving organisational engagement via ownership, simplification and creating a culture of transparency and ambition. He lives in London and his family is now a weird mix of Scottish, Russian, Hong Kong, Canadian, and South African. In his spare time, he watches too much rugby.
