Member of the Asset Management Team at RioCan REIT. We bring together the leasing, operations, development and financial teams to drive asset value and provide stable returns for our investors. I have two main areas of focus; - The ground up development of purpose built rental buildings within our RioCan Living initiative. I am the asset manager responsible for projects such as; our four phase Frontier development in Gloucester (Ottawa) with our Partner Killam, Litho (740 Dupont) downtown in Toronto with partner Woodbourne, and our soon to be named Sunnybrook plaza project with Concert Properties.- The repositioning of some of our more troubled assets such as; Five Points Mall conversion and sale to Dymon Storage, Niagara Square reformatting, and Lincoln Fields in Ottawa.

Asset manager responsible for all leasing, operations, and financial analysis for a portfolio of 18 grocery anchored shopping centres within the Slate Retail Reit (TSX - SRT.U).

As the Director of US Operations and member of the Asset Management team for the US Portfolio (Slate Retail REIT - SRT.UN on the TSX) my focus is on the overall operations of the properties. My responsibilities include;- The day-to-day management of the local property managers of our 40+ US grocery anchored retail plazas- Manage the major maintenance and capital projects (ie roof replacements, parking lot overlays, landscaping upgrades, etc). Help decide on scope, choice of vendor and local consultant, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.- Responsible for controlling and reporting on the accounts receivable across the portfolio. With the help of the property managers we work the tenants to help reduce arrears while at the same time allowing the tenants business to not only continue at the property but thrive.- Assist in the yearly property and fund level budget creation process.

Part of the portfolio management and development team that was responsible for 14 downtown commercial (including office and retail space) properties and development projects in Halifax. General real estate management responsibilities including:- Leasing: marketed available space, completed space tours, negotiated leases, and composed the lease documents.- Property management: Fielded and responded to all incoming tenant maintenance issues (including but not limited to: HVAC issues, plumbing and lighting issues, pest control problems, elevator issues, etc). Maintained good tenant relations via ongoing communication with management during issues.- Accounting: Managed portfolio wide rent collection and receivables. Processed all deposits and payables through the use of Yardi.

Facilitate the sale, implementation, and ongoing account management of Xerox business system solutions to businesses in the Markham area through face-to-face, phone, and targeted marketing campaigns. Position highlights:- Completed Xerox intensive sales training course- Consistently achieved over plan results with $250,000 in sales throughout the first 6 months of 2009 or 105.86% of plan.- Was the office leader in the production equipment category and first at DBS to sell 3 of the new Xerox 700 Digital Colour Press (valued at over $75k each).
