About Thorgal Westra

In 2016 ben ik begonnen als freelance fotograaf. Na een reis door de Molukken en Nieuw-Zeeland ben ik in 2017 in Australië gaan wonen en heb ik mij toen verder ontwikkeld als videograaf. Vervolgens ben ik in 2018 in China gaan wonen, heb ik fotografie les gegeven, eigen foto exposities georganiseerd, een kledingcollectie ontworpen, gewerkt aan korte films maar mezelf ook uiteindelijk verder ontwikkeld als cinematograaf, creative director, editor, (afentoe) producer maar vooral ook als all-round filmmaker. Door mijn ervaring op verschillende plekken in de wereld, heb ik gewerkt met een diversiteit aan teams, klein (tot aan one-man toe), groot maar ook multicultureel.Sinds Maart 2023 ben ik weer vast terug in Nederland en werk ik in deze afwisselende functies tegenwoordig (vaak met eigen gear set) aan diverse commerciële documentaires, campagne films en promotionele videos.
