Welcome to the property crowdfunding world. A trip to Iceland inspired me to collaborate with two other innovative entrepreneurs, to find a solution faced by many: how can we enable more investors to take part in property development deals without the hassle thats normally associated with property investing? Crowd with Us, the company I co-founded, is the answer. We match property development deals with investors so that investors can take part in the property development and share the profits with the property developer. I was 19 when I bought my first property in Australia. I invested the money I'd earned working in an underground silver mine to buy 188 acres of land near our family farm. When I moved to Europe I worked as a foreman across the UK & Ireland on construction sites. I bought my first London property in 2009 but when I wanted to invest in more properties I realised there was an easier way – partner with a group of friends & colleagues & buy property together. This is how I got into crowdfunding deals & have bought and/or sold 50 properties & counting since - valued at £17m and counting. Now we are scaling this through our alternative finance investment platform so more investors can take part. Deal structuring for maximum profit & risk mitigation are my core strengths. It is not always straight forward. I like the transparency that our online platform offers to investors & how easy it is for them to diversify their portfolio. They control exactly where their money goes, and they have a straightforward exit option.
