Working with the Continuing Education Department, to create programs for the military, public and private sector led to the opening of ACT, my consulting business, in 1980.

Working with upper management of Spiegel Catalogue, developing a company training program and creating a performance management program that linked training to performance was both exciting and creative. Designing and delivering targeted training programs and managing the training for a 1000-member call center for Newport News, Inc. was an amazing opportunity to develop programs for the call center, warehouse, and the New York office headquarters, including the marketing department and merchandising center where the clothes were designed.

Creating a successful international training enterprise for 15 years that included organizations such as the United Nations, US Postal Service, Anheuser-Busch, NASA, U.S. military agencies including (Army, Navy, Coast Guard, Civil Service, CIA), Hampton Roads Regional Police Academy, Virginia city and state government, Philip Morris, Northrup Grumman, and Seimens among others was truly an amazing opportunity. To work with such intelligent, dedicated individuals in such a vast array of businesses provided learning insights that have guided my career.
