I have a national practice focused on representing children injured by negligent healthcare. I also represent survivors of sexual abuse. I have led litigation teams that recovered tens of millions of dollars to help injured plaintiffs and their families rebuild their lives. NBC News, the Associated Press, the Washington Post, and other local and national media organizations have reported on cases in which I have served as lead counsel.I have had the privilege of presenting written or oral argument to numerous federal and state appellate courts. I have authored and co-authored briefs to the United States Supreme Court and have presented briefing and oral argument to state and federal appellate courts, including the United States Court of Appeals for the Third and Fourth Circuits. I also maintain an active pro bono practice.I have had the privilege of serving the Maryland Association of Justice (MAJ) in a variety of capacities, including current positions in the Board of Governors and Executive Committee. On behalf of MAJ, I have testified numerous times before the Maryland General Assembly to advocate for fair treatment of injured and disadvantaged people. I was privileged to receive the 2022 Robert J. Zarbin Legislative Advocacy Award from MAJ. I have been recognized as a Best Lawyer in America: Ones to Watch (2023, 2024), as a Super Lawyer (2024), a Super Lawyers® Rising Star (2021, 2022, 2023), as Top 40 under 40 from the National Trial Lawyers, and as a Distinguished Justice Advocate. I have been specially admitted to represent clients in Arizona, the District of Columbia, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.I live with my wife and two children in Maryland. Before becoming a lawyer, I served as communications director for the Office of the Mayor of Salt Lake City, where I was the mayor’s speechwriter and media liaison.
