Grew Tilt’s engineering team from 1 to 30+ while building a platform which served millions of customers in 8 countries, and processed hundreds of millions of dollars in transactions across multiple currencies. Led the company through numerous scaling challenges, technical and strategic decisions, and regulatory hurdles (PCI Compliance, E-Money License, etc.).

Worked on a small R&D team incubating and implementing many diverse projects from idea to completion. Managed technical decisions, implementation, resources, and strategy for each project, as well as technical client relationships with companies like NPR, Mandiant, and Sotheby’s, AARP, Mandarin Oriental, and many others.

Helped build the Webmail.us email hosting platform very early on, which became one of the largest email hosting services in the world before being acquired by Rackspace in 2007. Built and launched several new product initiatives, including a replacement SMTP system, and a competitive email marketing tool before shifting to the OpenStack team, where I helped build Nova, OpenStack’s distributed and highly scalable cloud compute platform.
