With 40+ years service to football, John was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the League Managers Association (LMA). Former winners include Bobby Robson, Don Howe, Rafael Benitez, Arsene Wenger and Sir Alex Ferguson. John's notable successes include winning the Conference Premier title 3 times with Dagenham and Redbridge, Luton Town and Maidstone United FC. John was also voted the BBC Sports personality of the year. Identify and recruit players eligible for centre of excellence/category 3 football - signing players from grass-roots Clubs and released players from Academy/category 1 & 2 football Clubs Success: produced 4 first team players, 5 scholarship players in one year from the u17s development squad I managed, 1 u16 player was sold to Chelsea for a large 6 figure sum, one u14 to Arsenal and one u14 to West Ham. one player I brought in is now playing championship football. I was responsible for Barnet FC u16s first victory over premiership opposition Arsenal FC a 3-0 away win With the continued success of the development programme I managed a 5-1 win against the scholarship programme saw a number of players progress into the scholarship programme where the following year they at the time went on to Barnets highest ever league finish. I was also responsible for the recruitment and development of a player sold for a 6 figure sum to Chelsea. My coaching and playing philosophy instilled within the academy is now adopted throughout Barnet FC from foundation phase to professional development phase laying the foundations for a style of football played throughout the club today.
