Since 1978 I worked at the Department of Computers, Brno University of Technology.1978-1990 as a researcher, 1990-1991 as an assistant professor, 1991-1998 as an associated professor, since 1998 as a full professor, 2002-2007 as the first dean of the new Faculty of Information Technology, 2008-2018 as the vice-dean for research and 2018-2022 as the vice-rector for IT at the Brno University of Technology.In 1978-1983, I dealt with research in the area of compilers for simulation languages. I was concentrated on tools for compiler design automation. I designed a method of internal program model construction of a compiled program. In 1983-1989, I concentrated on design and implementation of both general-purpose (Pascal) and problem oriented languages (SFDL - Structure and Function Description Language for digital circuits). Since 1987, I participated on a project of the C language compiler. I continued with the research of graph models and solved the problem of formal definition of program translation into an internal form, leading to the methodics of modelling using attributed root graphs with graph-supported transformations. Since 2005, I am working on the implementation of the Lissom and Codasip projects. They are focused on the research of a processor description language and methods for transformation of processor models. These methods will be used for the design of an advanced software toolset, which would make a processor systems development more efficient and, in some aspects, fully automated.Speciální zkušenosti: compiler construction, simulation languages, information systems, management, projects, hardware/software co-design
