Thuan has more than 13 years of experience working for the People’s Court of Ho Chi Minh City. He spent more than 8 years working as the assistant to the Chief Judge of the Civil Division. In March 2003, Thuan joined Vilaf – Hong Duc before joining P&P in October 2008 and becoming the fifth partner of P&P in April 2009. In September 2019, upon the closure of P&P, Thuan joining a group of ex-P&P Partners, set up Global Vietnam Lawyers LLC Thuan is highly regarded for his versatility as a civil, commercial, maritime, insurance and construction trial and appellate lawyer. In his commercial litigation practice, Mr. Thuan has handled a variety of well-known cases including legal actions against a tax agency to decline a tax obligation equal to 7 million USD, defending a world famous soft drink manufacturer in labour class actions by employees, handling dispute among members of a 5-star hotel joint venture, representing a foreign contractor in resolving dispute over the construction of a high-class housing project, handling maritime cases which include applying for arrest and release of sea-going vessels, representing foreign well-known insurer in subrogation cases, representing foreign top cotton and feeds traders in enforcing foreign arbitral awards in Vietnam with regard to damages worth of several million USD and last but not least, handling large number of debt collection cases for both local and overseas clients including HSBC Vietnam, Shell Vietnam, UPS Vietnam, Basf Vietnam, Cedar Financial, AG Processing Inc., MNS ....Not only handling dispute resolution works including litigation, Thuan also work intensively to advise clients on various legal fields in respect with employment and labour, maritime & shipping, insurance, contract, civil, family and other commercial issues.Thuan has annually given lectures at several seminars on labour both in Vietnam and Singapore and on debt collection in Vietnam. He also has had several contributions to Saigon Economic Times Magazine and other local newspapers on various commercial issues.
