I work as a digital marketer. What does this mean? I am working with a team that builds, optimizes and manages a digital strategy that presents the company as a brand and generates revenue. This is the definition provided by Wikipedia. But, to be honest, it is not enough. Digital Marketing is a broad and complex field. We are the ones who are responsible for building and managing an online presence that drives traffic to a website and converts this traffic into sales. This is what I do at Kerugoya Municipality Schools with my team. It has been more than two years since I started working with the school, which already has developed a considerable social media following on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. We are a small team that works in two main areas: digital marketing and digital communication. We are here to help grow the number of followers for our website and social networks, promote the content published on the website and social networks, as well as manage the processes that generate revenue.The work carried out by my team ranges from writing posts for social media to managing the different media relations tools such as video, press releases or images. I am responsible for the strategy and management of the digital marketing. I take care of the planning of the digital campaigns, writing social media posts, managing the digital communication and digital marketing budgets, as well as managing the commercial content (website, social networks, etc.).
