I got matched into the Jennifer Raymond Lab at Stanford University to gain hands-on experience and contribute to computational neuroscience research. The Raymond Lab focuses on analyzing neural learning rules governing the local decisions each synapse in the circuit makes to alter its strength, based on analysis of input. The goal is to understand how decisions are coordinated through neural circuit to obtain algorithm for the regulation of the circuit's function/1 Conducted research under postdoctoral scholar, Trace Stay, to run the runEyeCalibration.m script in MATLAB to align the ellipse in eye calibration to give values for the radii of the pupil and corneal reflections./2 Tested the experiment using MATLAB, TIBTalk, and Spike 2 to set number of training blocks and training duration to run the experiment in 6-7 training blocks, and saving results of data in the mouse's folder. /3 Inspected three phases of post training period including Head Restrained Motion, Head Sinusoidal Motion, and Head Natural Motion to see if the mouse is having particular issues such as a stroke or tearing its headpost. /4 Presented research data in the end-of-year research symposium in New York City in front fellows and mentors.
