This course is designed to provide a comprehensive overview to computer graphics techniques in 3D modeling, image synthesis, and rendering. Topics cover: geometric transformations, geometric algorithms, software systems, 3D object models (surface, volume and implicit), visible surface algorithms, image synthesis, shading, mapping, ray tracing, radiosity, global illumination, sampling, anti-aliasing, Monte Carlo path tracing, and photonmapping. As a TA, I hold office hours, answer students' questions on Piazza and grade students' homework.

This course focuses on data structures, software design, and advanced Java. The course starts off with an introduction to data structures and basics of the analysis of algorithms. Important data structures covered will include arrays, lists, stacks, queues, trees, hash maps, and graphs. The course also focuses on software design and advanced Java topics such as software architectures, design patterns, networking, multithreading, and graphics. Java is the programming language for the entire course. As a TA, I hold office hours, recitations, answer students' questions on Piazza and grade students' homework.

Processing is an environment for artists to create their artwork by programming (Java, Javascript, etc.) As a head TA, I give presentations on how to program in Java within Processing, lead workshops and hold office hours. Additionally, I meet with professors of the course to create and update content for presentations. I also help with recruiting and managing TAs for the course.

I segment images & develop tools and a 3D simulation for hiatal hernia from patients' CT scans (Hiatal hernias are a common condition in which the gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) and part of the stomach slide up through the esophageal hiatus. Currently, there is a lack of tools to help surgeons in approximating how tightly to repair the diaphragmatic hole which varies in size and shape. Surgeons must rely on experience and intuition, since two-dimensional CT scans are the basis of pre-surgery visualization at the moment.)

I fixed a tool generating vertex color for trees to help simulate tree movement in the wind. In addition, I developed a pipeline to replace meshes in an outdated format, missing vertex color information, with those having painted vertices, and made sure that they are linked to existing textures correctly. To make sure that vertex colors are applied appropriately, I frequently communicated with artists to adjust my method and assess needs.

I familiarize students with Autodesk Maya to recreate objects & people in the past. The goal for these models is for them to be used in VR to show users how people in ancient times interact with their environment and with each other.
