Current•Assist Distribution Technology personnel in testing the electrical distribution system. •Assist with switching orders process.•Assist Power Control Personnel during emergencies, such as transformer or distribution line failures, and route current flow around affected areas.•Control, monitor or operate equipment that regulates or distributes electricity, using data obtained from instruments or computers.•Evaluate resource strength(crews) required to handle emergency trouble… Show more •Assist Distribution Technology personnel in testing the electrical distribution system. •Assist with switching orders process.•Assist Power Control Personnel during emergencies, such as transformer or distribution line failures, and route current flow around affected areas.•Control, monitor or operate equipment that regulates or distributes electricity, using data obtained from instruments or computers.•Evaluate resource strength(crews) required to handle emergency trouble events.•Call in adequate number of crews prior to known approaching situations. •Communicate with engineers, planners, field personnel, or other utility workers to provide information such as clearances, switching orders, or distribution process changes.•Maintain current working knowledge of Cobb EMC’s evolving system protection schemes.•Ensure available crews are efficiently dispatched to the pending jobs.•Promote open air radio communication with crews in the field.•Ensure crews involved in switching have been cleared prior to energizing a line.•Monitor, Isolate faults and Restore power flow.•Collaborate on a seamless transition of active work during shift changes.•Assist Power Control personnel during SCADA alarms to determine the state of the electrical distribution system and take appropriate action.•Assist in implementing and initiating storm restoration procedures.•Monitor and maintain all records associated with SCADA, video wall map board, weather radar, radio, and other control room equipment.•Maintain the following records daily: Outages and emergency maintenance work, Substatio Security Log, Line Protection Log, Tower Lights Log, and others, as assigned.•Ensure proper processing of outage reports.•Ensure the system operating board remains current.•Check shift log at beginning of each shift to ensure effective power control operations.•Inform supervisors of crew progress on a consistent basis •Maintain current list of field and vehicle assignments Show less
