Deep Learning applied to 3D multi-parametric pre-operative MRI and intra-operative ultrasound images of brain tumor patients to estimate the deformation fields that register (align) both pre- and intra-operative volumes that naturally shift due to tissue resection during surgery, reducing the differences between the images and helping surgeon neuronavigation throughout the procedure.

Carrying out of activities in the fields of clinical pathology and public health through the study, application, and evaluation of specific analytical techniques and methods for diagnostic and screening purposes: o Screening of biological samples: blood (total, serum, and plasma), urine (spot, 12-hour, and 24-hour), cerebrospinal fluid, ascitic fluid, etc. o Analytical processing of tests requested by clinicians, particularly in the scope of clinical biochemistry and immunology/immunochemistry. o Conducting manual immunology techniques in the scope of infectious serology (ToRCH group, Syphilis, Brucella, Salmonella, Hepatitis A/B/C, HIV). o Detection of drugs of abuse in urine and serum. o Immunological diagnosis of early pregnancy and biochemical prenatal screening for chromossomal abnormalities. o Performing electrophoresis and immunofixations in serum and urine (Bence Jones), aimed at diagnosing and screening of monoclonal gammopathies. o Management of internal and external quality controls; QC statistical reports analysis. o Analytical validation of clinical results. o Stock management.Certified proficiency with in vitro diagnostics instruments: cobas pro (Roche), VIDAS 3 (bioMérieux), Architect i2000SR (Abbott), Maglumi 800 (Snibe), V8 Nexus (Helena Bioscience), HYDRASYS (Sebia).

Project titled: "Expression, purification and characterization of mutants of the triheme cytochrome PpcA from Geobacter metallireducens" - Grade: 19/20Focused on expressing, isolating, and studying the dynamics and structure of mutants of the cytochrome PpcA of G. metallireducens, by applying Analytical Biochemistry methods and performing NMR experiments, aimed at finding an improvement of these proteins’ electron transfer capabilities. Broader applications of this research involve the production of “green” electronic biomaterials and bioremediation.My final project involved the following steps:1. Transformation of E. coli competent cells2. Protein overexpression, purification and characterization (HPLC: ion-exchange, size-exclusion)3. Redox titrations followed by UV-Vis spectroscopy (in a hypobaric chamber)4. Nuclear Magnetic Resonance experiments
