After leading the path to the Five Star by Forbes Travel Guide award at St. Regis Bahia Beach in Puerto Rico, Tiago was invited to join Belmond in Iguassu Falls in 2016 where he successfully achieved the same milestone within one year of joining the team. Upon the acquisition of Cap Juluca in Anguilla, Tiago was selected to return to the Caribbean to lead its full $121M renovation, rebranding and re-opening, whilst driving the Sales and Marketing strategy and execution of Area Belmond Caribbean Resorts.Tiago and his team victoriously obtained his third Forbes 5 star award and was then invited to elevate the Mount Nelson in Cape Town and repeat history, a fourth time with 5 star rating, turning him into one of the very few General Managers in the world with such an achievement.He was then promoted to lead the development and operation of the African properties for Belmond while leading the transformation of the Mount Nelson to be considered as the Best Hotel in Africa for “2024 worlds 50 best” and in 2023 for Travel & Leisure. Tiago is a passionate leader, who believes in positive energy and exceeding goals while doing the right thing. He is a strategic partner in all Belmond worldwide Operational Projects that involve what is next in Luxury and on the crafting of operational solutions and concepts.
