A broker. Between marketing and IT.With my marketing background and after working for in several different marketing areas of an IT company, on December 2014 I moved into a different role that puts these two worlds together: I'm responsible for developing IBM's public cloud business among partners.Why a broker? Thanks to my friend Alessandro Zonin, who thought me a lot about network science, I learned that a person who connects different networks and translates both groups' languages so they can better understand each other, plays a pretty valuable role... even more relevant than the one played by a person who has more connections within a network (which goes a little bit against the importance we normally give to people who belong to broad networks, right?).(those concepts are much better explained in this article: http://bit.ly/brokernetwork)And, honestly, ever since I was a child in school, I was always friends with everyone, but at the same time never felt I belonged to one or other group... so this broker role actually ended up fitting me pretty well and I continue to exercise it now as a Business Partner relationship manager.Because, as the author of the above article says: "Brokerage is more than a tactic. It is a way of life".
