Senior Civil, Structural and Mechanical Engineer, awarded as Chartered and Expert in Structures.I hold a BSc and MSc degree in Civil Engineering, an MSc degree in Structural Engineering, both in TU Lisbon, an MSc degree in Steel and Composite Construction at the University of Coimbra, an MSc in Mechanical Engineering, as well as post-graduate studies in Earthquake Engineering in IUSS Pavia and Topology Optimisation in DTU (Denmark). Having taken part in the design or analysis of more than 200 structures, my most relevant activity encompasses steel and composite design and detailing, high-rise building design, mining and industrial facilities, seismic analysis, and stadia roof design. Furthermore, I collaborated on several research projects and wrote several articles besides a book. Lately, I have been focused on offshore structures design, fatigue analysis with probabilistic methods, seismic design of steel structures, topology optimisation and artificial intelligence applications for structural engineering.
