CBD Kratom is one of America's largest health and wellness retailers, with over 60 stores in 5 states. I was hired as the Research & Development Specialist during the preliminary stages of the expansion of the R&D department, as the company aimed to manufacture more innovative, in-house products. In an effort to bring the best possible products to shelves, I created a product launch cycle Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to ensure we are using our resources to their fullest potential and only working on products that align with the company's goals and success. I currently manage the process of a product going from inception to active SKU, ensuring adequate sourcing, quality ingredients, accurate packaging, and fulfilling a product's custom needs.When discussing new products, I work with ownership and department heads to combine my health and wellness market analysis with the vision for the company as a whole to establish goals and priorities for the R&D department. In the early stages of a product, I coordinate with the staff scientists at MNG Labs to formulate supplement products from raw materials, conduct long-term stability and potency tests, organize logistics for team-member human trials for future potential products, subsequent data analysis, and completion of Certificates of Analysis. This collaboration with MNG Labs generates over $5 million annually in revenue for CBD Kratom and drives down costs of goods and services (COGS), resulting in higher profit margins. As a product gets more developed, I collaborate with the finance department to create cost breakdowns for product P&Ls and coordinate with Marketing, Legal, Production, Supply Chain, and Launch Teams on packaging and product fulfillment. During my tenure as R&D Coordinator, I have added over 100 new products to CBD Kratom shelves across the country. With efficiency and purpose, I work to create the top-selling, quality products that are key to our success.

My main job was to organize inventory for the dry grocery section. This included setting up the store in the morning, and organizing the goods that came in from the trucks in the back warehouse. After which, they had to be unloaded into the main grocery floor, while organizing by expiration date and monitoring for quality. I also assisted customers to help them find their products and advised them on those that best fit their needs. In addition to my day-to-day responsibilities, I did inventory, sign design, and answered phone calls. Within the 6 months of my working there, I made great connections and was honored as Employee of the Month. My time with Fresh Thyme taught me about effort and customer service. I advanced my communication and problem-solving skills.

This took me everywhere from running social media accounts of a cancer hospital in Tanzania, to creating a book cover for a self-published author, and designing schematic figures for papers published in Nature Aging and Molecular Cell.

I helped with the development of the media annotation software, Mediate. My position had three main parts. The first was to attend conferences and presentations for the purpose of stimulating interest in the software and fostering beneficial partnerships. This included attending a Digital Humanities conference in Pittsburg and a Rochester gala welcoming the new president of the University of Rochester. The second was to help author a paper for Digital Humanities Quarterly which required speaking about my experience with Mediate and how we used the software in the classroom, especially in comparison with my own experience in the class when Mediate was not used. The third, and largest element of my job was to create helpful instructional guides for future generations of Mediate users in ways that are clear, helpful, and aesthetically pleasing, allowing me to expand on my writing and graphic design skills.

As an undergraduate researcher, I worked in the Elliot Lab under Professor Andrew Elliot and his graduate student, Aleza Wallace. The primary goal of this lab was to study achievement motivation, the need for achievement (nAch), and more specifically for my project, failure mindsets.Throughout the years I have worked on different aspects of the project. This initially included conducting experiments on student subjects, ensuring that each participant had conditions that were consistent and comparable. My second project involved coding participants' responses, and working with a team to make an objective coding system to get reliable, unbiased results from a free form, subjective response. My third job was to work on a top-down view of failure as an individual difference to create a global failure mindset framework. My final focus was a literature review which involved reading current and past papers on the subject of failure to ensure the originality and fruitfulness of our study.

During my time as a wine label researcher, I worked to put together the basics for the project, which consisted of research into the wine industry and wine categorization using books, as well as our robust local wine culture.In our preliminary research, we discovered some of the histories and uses of wine, as well as how American wine cultures differ from European wine cultures, and how narrative plays a strong role in the value of wine. Our focus on wine labels exemplified the importance of narrative as labels are largely made up of the wine's story of origin, which attempts to display authenticity and illicit nostalgia. This preliminary research stands as a basis for continual research on wine language.

As Basileus (or President) of Forsyth Technical Community College's Alpha Me Beta Co-Ed service fraternity, I coordinated volunteers, planned campus events, and organized community service, in addition to serving as the Chair of the Student Relations and Women's Achievement Committees, and as a member of the Angel Tree , Fall Fest , and Spring Fling Committees, and the Student Government Council. This job required a lot of hands on work and planning for campus events while still keeping in line with the rules and regulations that go along with working on a community college campus. During my time as Alpha Mu Beta's Basileus, two of the advisors under which I worked, left for the better part of the year. This resulted in my team and myself learning how to function with less guidance and only one part-time advisor. Despite this hurdle, we were able to provide bi-weekly connections booths, several events large events per semester, and grow Alpha Mu Beta and the Student Government Association (with whom I worked very closely).
