I am a fourth-year doctoral candidate (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology at Alliant International University, specializing in the Child and Family track. Currently completing my Residency, I provide psychoeducational assessment and therapy in both school and clinic settings. My work focuses on supporting the mental health and emotional well-being of children, adolescents, and families, while also gaining valuable hands-on experience in treatment planning and intervention strategies. Before pursuing my doctorate, I gained extensive experience working with youth in various mental health settings with Alberta Health Services. I supported adolescents in three distinct facilities: the Adolescent Psychiatric Facility at Red Deer Hospital, the Protective Safe House (Youth Detox Facility), and the Step Up, Step Down 3-month mental health program. Throughout these roles, I collaborated closely with multidisciplinary teams of nurses, psychologists, addictions counselors, recreational therapists, and psychiatrists to provide comprehensive mental health and addiction services. In addition to my clinical work, I have a passion for mental health advocacy. During my undergraduate years at the University of Calgary, I served on the Youth Council for Child, Adolescent, and Family Mental Health (CASA) in Edmonton. There, I worked on projects designed to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and foster a deeper understanding of mental health issues in the community. A key initiative was the creation and publication of the Unseen Youth Mental Health Magazine, a resource aimed at highlighting the challenges faced by youth and providing educational content to the broader public. As I move forward in my career, I am dedicated to advancing my skills in psychological assessment, intervention, and advocacy, with a long-term goal of making a meaningful impact on the mental health of youth and their families.
