Purpose: Prof. Bolic was fighting with sleep apnea, and eager to develop a handy anequipment to precisely detect sleep apnea with acceptable expense.Content:• Find and compare existing IR cameras in order to analyze the optimal camera requirements applied to the project• Arrange weekly data collection along with volunteers and CHEO sleep lab• Synchronize and filter collected data and extract signals from records through image processing• Standardize data collection process to avoid non-valuable dataWith the help and lead of prof. Bolic, I had a chance to practically implement what I learnt and improve my communication skills in the mean time.

This project was encouraged by Yantai University to develop daily life devices helping citizens solving realistic problems. As haze caused by factory pollution and automobile exhaust discharging seriously threatened citizens’ physical health and portable haze detector was not developed, thus my team decided to develop a portable haze detector to help people decrease haze threaten.
