ecoAmerica is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing climate solutions by engaging and supporting diverse, trusted national institutions. As a board member, I contribute to the organization's strategic direction and provide oversight to ensure the successful implementation of ecoAmerica’s mission. My role involves guiding the development of key programs, fostering partnerships, and helping mobilize leadership to inspire climate action on a national scale. Since May 2019, I’ve worked closely with other board members and staff to support ecoAmerica's efforts to drive meaningful, lasting change.

NOTABLE ACCOMPLISHMENTS:Led comprehensive strategic planning process resulting in agency-wide reform of business practices and operations while holding the line on staff and costs.Conceived then secured bipartisan support for legislation allowing realignment of agency land ownership resulting in improved timber management efficiency and permanent protection of irreplaceable natural areas.Initiated strong and innovative investment practices to increase earnings for Trust Fund Loan Program.

Led institution-wide launch of the global initiative on climate; helped design, develop and fund first U.S. government certified carbon mitigation project; oversaw capacity building for developing country partners; developed $50 million portfolios of U.S. and overseas forest carbon mitigation projectsBuilt capacity among developing countries’ governmental and nongovernmental bodies for project development and policy advocacy, including meaningful participation in multilateral treaty negotiations.Shepherded development and passage of federal Debt for Nature legislation.Assisted with design of Latin American “Parks in Peril” program and secured nearly $35 million in Congressional earmarks.Served as advisor to World Bank Bio-Carbon Fund.
