I am the founder and director of Brisbane-Based Creative Consulting and Production house ATYPICAL ORIGINALS. A passionate Producer, who lives and breathes all things story, character, theme, and message, my company's goals are to tell stories we haven't heard before, exploring perspectives we haven't seen on screen, intelligently expanding on social issues and the human experience, and expanding an audience's ideas of the world around them and the people in it. A champion of diverse and inclusive storytelling, I am excited to bring my international sales and distribution as well as storytelling expertise to the projects and creatives I collaborate with at ATYPICAL ORIGINALS.My advanced storytelling skills and unique expertise grew from my foundational experience as a screenwriter. This was expanded and enhanced in my roles spearheading the Development and Acquisitions portfolios within international sales agency ODIN'S EYE ENTERTAINMENT & ANIMATION- working on both Television and Feature Film projects domestically and internationally. It was here I also harassed my market research and data analytics background, developing my expertise and knowledge in international sales and distribution.In addition to skills in project acquisitions and development, working within an international sales environment enabled me to develop further skills in financing, distribution, sales, festival strategy, and production. My skills evolved to analyse, interpret, and address the international market and its specific needs when developing/acquiring projects - with factors such as market analysis, co-production opportunities, packaging, financing from government agencies, pre-sales, and more evaluated. Working extensively in the international landscape (attending major film markets and festivals internationally) has meant I have developed a strong and robust network with international creatives, production companies, international government screen agencies, film festival personnel and more. These fantastic relationships provide a myriad of benefits including great localised data on specific territories and their content trends, upcoming financing options from government funding agencies or other investment groups, as well as possible co-production partners for Australia.Bringing my strong craft sensibilities and commercially sensitive instinct, I am focussed on identifying and supporting stories that are not only authentic, but commercially perform and resonate within the ANZ market and beyond.
