Currently, I serve as the Education and Interpretation Director at the Accokeek Foundation, where I lead educational programs that highlight the natural and cultural heritage of Piscataway Park.In addition to my role at the Accokeek Foundation, I am honored to chair the Maryland Commission on Indian Affairs, where I work to promote awareness and understanding of Native American contributions and advocate for the rights and recognition of indigenous communities.I also chair the Parent Committee for the CCPS Title VI Indian Education Program, ensuring that the educational needs of Native American students are met and their cultural heritage is respected.As a co-lead professor for the Piscataway History course at the University of Maryland, I have the privilege of educating students about the rich history and contemporary issues facing the Piscataway people.My commitment to educational equity extends to my role as a parent member of the CCPS Educational Equity Task Force, where I advocate for systemic changes to address disparities among students.Beyond these roles, I am a passionate advocate for American Indian rights and sovereignty, with a particular emphasis on education and environmental relationships. My work is driven by my commitment to creating capacity and educational opportunities for the next seven generations.
