Principal software engineer / Team lead / Engineering manager in the startup space. Currently travelling around Australia.I'm solution oriented, continuously learning whatever tools are needed to solve the current problem and providing leadership where needed in order to solve said problem. I'll build the machine that makes the machine, I'm mostly interested in solving the right problem in a sustainable way rather than just churning out features. I wear many hats, sometimes I need to be an engineering manager, sometimes I work as support, sometimes I'm a product manager, thankfully most times I'm an engineer and actively contributing to the codebase. I believe that to be an effective leader you have to get your hands dirty in code and feature development and be actively working alongside the other team members to retain sufficient context.I've always been an agent of change within organisations and will continuously endeavour to improve "how" engineers / product / design / QA work holistically rather than purely focussing on coding. Current stack is fairly straight-forward Kotlin / Spring with some react. Definitely more on the backend side. In the past worked with embedded c++, python web services, machine learning, high performance glsl shaders and developing targeted algorithms written in CUDA.
