I am the Head of the international team and part of the management team at the RDA (Regional Development Agency) for the Province of Flevoland in the Netherlands. Flevoland is (economically) one of the fastest growing Provinces in the Netherlands and is connected to Amsterdam in the West and more rural and agricultural areas in the Northeast. The international team focuses on proactively stimulating foreign companies to invest in the Netherlands and Dutch companies to trade abroad. The role involves working with governments and businesses but also to understand corporate and public decision-making processes and how to successfully influence them.

I was the head of the embassy based NFIA team in London. Responsible for the UK & Ireland. Leading and growing the team during challenging Brexit times. The Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency is a dedicated part of the Netherlands’ government Responsible for facilitating foreign investment projects of UK, Irish, North American and Asian companies into the Netherlands by advising the companies, influencing their decision-making process and networking. The services are free of charge and range from providing benchmarking (other European or global) locations, legal information, finding the right location for your company in the Netherlands including organising fact-finding trips, information on visa’s, introductions to meaningful networks, etc. etc.We also maintain relations with existing investors via the investor development programme for the purpose of safeguarding these investments, create additional investments and feedback with respect to the Netherlands’ climate for investments.

During my years at the Rotterdam Investment Agency (nowadays Rotterdam Partners) I was responsible for developing the US, Middle East and India markets with an aim to attract foreign investment to the Rotterdam region. Furthermore, as it was a young and relatively new organisation I was involved in developing an acquisition strategy for the greater Rotterdam region.

During my working period for BCI I was mainly involved in international site selection projects for multinational companies and marketing strategies for regions. For BCI I was based in all three locations: Nijmegen, The Hague and Brussels.
