I have been telling stories for more than 30 years and it never gets old. Traveling all across the United States and most of Latin America has given me the tools to understand issues from a different point of view. I am a journalist at my core but an adventurer at heart. Univision has been my family for the past 20 years. First as a freelance correspondent in Central America and then with their news magazine show AQUI Y AHORA. I work along an amazing team. With them I have won an IRE Award (2012), five National Emmy Awards (2014, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2023) and a Peabody Award (2012).Stories have taken me to remote places where I have met the most amazing people. The best stories I have covered are the ones that usually don't get told. I try to give voice to the people that otherwise, would be forgotten. I am not afraid to lead or to allow people to show me the way. I recently spent a semester as a Lecturer at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism teaching a class called "Reporting on Latin America" and I learned that I love to teach. My students agree with me. My years of engineering studies give me an advantage in this age of technology. I can edit with FCP and AVID, and as far as the MAC vs PC battle, I don't take sides. I own both. I am bilingual thanks to my bicultural and binational roots. I was born in Philadelphia, but my heart belongs to Nicaragua.
