I am the Founder and Executive Director of Crafting Change a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to match makers to projects with purpose, helping those in need. I am also on the Board of Directors of Every Day Action a nonprofit based in Los Angeles that takes perceived waste and redistributes it to those in need. Our main mission at EDA is taking leftover food from Film & Television productions and getting it directly to the unsheltered. I am also the co-owner of Falcon Family Medicine, a successful traveling physician medical practice.Crafting Change: Founded in the COVID-19 era, we learned firsthand what a group of inspired craftivists can accomplish together, even while being physically apart. Crafting Change believes in a world where makers feel inspired and connected to the multitude of creative projects that make a difference in the world around them. Crafting Change seeks to build an inspiring and trustworthy collection of these projects through relationships with underserved communities and the organizations that work closely with them. Craftivists connect with each other via an accessible, digital community with resources for honing their skills. Together, we make high-quality items that bring joy, comfort, and support to those in need, and make crafting fun. We partner with nonprofits across the country and the world to bring high quality handcrafted items to underserved communities who need them. We help supply our craftivists with the supplies they need to make these items if they themselves are underserved and provide educational resources on how to craft high quality items through educational lessons and fun get togethers bringing isolated persons together digitally. We literally bring people together in our virtual online Community to make these items then send them out to where they are needed most. We are partnered with agencies serving the homeless LGBTQIA+ youth of NYC, Tribal Communities across the Northern Rockies and the Great Plains, foster children in Kansas and drug addicted babies in Florida. We are helping girls in Ghana get menstrual products and the citizens of Nepal get masks. Crafting Change is changing lives one handmade item at a time. We are changing the lives of those who are crafting the items and we are most certainly changing the lives of those who are receiving them. We are an all volunteer organization from the top down and are always looking for talented folks to join our leadership team, our Board of Directors and as Interns.
